He asks if he can have a slap-up meal for dinner but oh dear, he gets a slap instead! Being a man is tough!
With women, if you want to ask for something, timing is important. She loves to give you what you want but it has to be the right time, and not only the right time but the right place and how you ask for things has a significant impact on the answer you are going to get. If she’s busy and not paying attention to what you’re saying, she might hear the wrong thing and you might get the wrong end of the bargain. So make sure you’re in the right setting and the right scene. Maybe you can help set the scene to a romantic one before asking for anything!

“I think men are afraid to be with a successful woman, because we are terribly strong, we know what we want and we are not fragile enough.” ~
Shirley Bassey quotes
The strength of women comes from the fact that psychology cannot explain us. Men can be analysed, women … merely adored. ~ OSCAR WILDE, The Ideal Husband
It’s a glorious day and the pool looks utterly inviting. But I told my husband it’s out of bounds. Why? Because a few weeks ago he injured himself diving off the board. He ended up with an expensive MRI scan and multiple physiotherapy sessions on his back, buttocks and legs. Lucky him! And he was in bed for ages. Lucky him! I had to do everything. Thankfully he’s back in shape now and he can drive a lawn mower tractor in the yard. It’s not easy watching a man in pain. It’s worse than going through childbirth!
His injury was due to compression of the sciatic nerve leading to pains in the lower back traveling through the buttocks, legs, and feet. And he has been recommended stretching exercises everyday.
Well, women are appreciative of men taking care of their bodies as well as their minds. When men are in pain, it’s a bit of a pain in the neck! Because, you then realize how much men are depended on not just for the bread and butter, but for all the manly tasks around the house like taking the garbage out, doing the lawn, repairing the fences, helping to take care of the kids and suddenly – where is he when you need him???
There’s a saying, “Exercise is done against one’s wishes and maintained only because the alternative is worse.” So better be in shape or be out of luck. A lot of men exercise. But when marriage and kids arrive, combined with high pressure jobs and a thousand of other excuses, they kind of let go. Their blood pressure goes up and before long they are so out of shape that they cannot even lift a vacuum cleaner let alone a set of weights.
